When we talk about Rajinikanth, he isn’t just a superstar. Rusted and aged from experience, he worked in a myriad of movies both regional and national.
His latest sensational tweet disclosing the first look of his upcoming movie Kabali spread a spark of buzz in his fans all across the nation. Adorned in a suave grey suit and sitting on a couch in his usual style and charisma, Superstar Rajini has grabbed a lot of attention. The fans have started running berserk trying to know everything about his latest flick which portrays him as Mafia Don. From his character portrayal to the shooting locations, everybody is eager to get the most of the inside stories from the sets.
With grey hair and thick icy beard, he plays Kabaliswaran, a Chennai Mafia Don. It is said that this movie is loosely related to a real-life mob boss’s life.
Having said that, none other than the talented Radhika Apte will play the leading lady opposite our thalaivar in Kabali. The movie is said to be shot not only in India but also few foreign locations.
Kabali Shooting Locations
The first schedule of shooting starts in Chennai itself, following which the cast will fly to Malaysia to commence shooting and will continue in Bangkok and then Hong Kong.

The entire crew and cast were present on the day of the fist schedule shoot. Superstar Rajini was seen in navy blue shirt and light blue jeans, playing it all casual and cool! Once the shooting is done, the crew moves to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Goa and finally Hyderabad to finish the shooting. The producer is said to have built a set resembling Thailand. The entire set which is a Thailand lookalike is created in the Chennai studio where the shooting happens till October 7th.
The fist schedule was shot on the auspicious day of Vinayagar Chaturthi on 17 September 2015 at the Russian Centre of Science and Cultural and Airport in Chennai. The crew shifted to the Chettinad Palace to resume the shoot later.
Apparently, the Chettinad Prince M.A.M.R. Muthiah opposed the shooting as he believed that they were invading his personal space!!
However, all the necessary documents and clearance certificates were provided to the attorneys on time and the shooting continued. The specific scene in the palace shows superstar Rajini getting down from a Sedan parked outside the palace and walking inside the palace in his usual patent style!
The latest updates from the set tell us that after the shoot in Malaysia, the shooting will continue at Adityaram studios and EVP world.
As per the last update, Binny Mills is a place where two of the most anticipated film of Kollywood is being shot simultaneously. Vedalam, starring Ajith and Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali is shot at this place currently!
